finally got around to finishing up an entry for Big Sky Carnival

Personality: Avery is a flirty sort of guy, and doesn't worry about trivial things such as gender if he likes someone. He can be very charming, but equally as socially awkward at times. He is friendly and not afraid of hard work. He is fairly easygoing, likeing a good laugh. In a competition situation he can get a little worked up and competitive. He has a southern accent.
History: Avery grew up on a mareep ranch just south of Violet City that provided electricity and top quality wool (his neck scarf is 100% mareep wool). As the youngest of three siblings he was jealous that his brothers were allowed to have pokmon of their own while he wasn't. As was the tradition in his family, when he turned six he was given a mareep egg to look after as a test. If he could look after it well he would be permitted to keep the pokemon as his own.
Avery carefully took care of the egg, taking it with him when he did his chores. When it finally hatched, he thought it was the weirdest mareep he ever seen, but loved it all the same.
He scooped up his pokemon and ran into the house to proudly show his family, and was surprised by their reaction. When he asked what they thought of his mareep, they told him that it wasn't a mareep.
Its still a mystery as to how a seviper egg got mised up witht he farms mareep eggs.
Avery's family were a bit creeped out by the new addition, but as they had promised him, Avery was allowed to keep the seviper whom he named Beatrix.
When he was old enough, he left the family ranch with Beatrix and Periwinkle to travel.
Avery has taken on many farmhand jobs to earn money to fund his journey, and has even entered the odd rodeo tauros-riding event.
He had just finished up a job when he came across a Big Sky flyer deciding that it would make a great adventure..

Species: Seviper
Sex: Female

Nature: Loyal

Battle style: Beatrix likes to observe her foe for any weaknesses before attacking. She prefers to use offensive moves in battle, particularly physical attacks.
Athletic stat: speed
Contest stat: tough
Other info: Beatrix is Avery's first pokemon, as such they are very close.
She gets jealous whenever Avery flirts with anyone for too long (especially girls), and often hisses at people she doesnt like.
Beatrix's odd colouring is due to her being albino.
She is a little bit vain (according to her, she has brains, brawn and beauty).
She is completely loyal to Avery.

Name: Periwinkle
Species: Altaria
Sex: Male
Ability: natural cure
Nature: Laid Back
Hold Item: -
Battle style: Periwinkle likes to stay away from his enemies, hitting them with ranged special attacks, although he wont shy away from using brute force to win if necessary.
Athletic stat: jump
Contest stat: cool
Other info: At about 10 years of age Avery had been hearing strange noises in the barn and, although afraid, he was told to suck it up. A few minutes later he cold be seen running from the barn screaming with a small blue and white blob clinging to his head.
As a swablu, Periwinkle would frequently perch himself atop Avery's head. As an altaria, he still tries to do this, although most of the time he only gets to perch on Avery's shoulders because he is is alot heavier now.
He wont allow Avery to wear any sort of hat, thats his job.

Sex: Male
Ability: water absorb
Nature: Odd

Battle style: Erratic. He is constantly changing tactics.
Athletic stat: skill
Contest stat: beauty
Other info: Avery received Blitz as a gift from an eevee breeder. It wasn't long before he realised why Blitz had been a gift.
He is a very strange pokemon. He likes to gather and hoard stones and rocks, and keep them in his basket (where of course he likes to sleep on them).
It was in this way he came to evolve, after one of his collection turned out to be a water stone.
He often has a glazed look on his face.
